The Windward Restaurant
Experience the ultimate in seaside dining at Hyatt Regency Newport.
A contemporary setting with generously proportioned windows serves as the perfect backdrop to a stunning view of the historic Point section of the Newport Harbor and the Narragansett Bay. Observe sailboats gliding in and out of the harbor as you dine on fresh seafood, daily specials and prime cuts of beef, poultry and pork. Our professional wait staff is always accommodating and never obtrusive.
- Starters – Stave off your hunger before a big event or start you four course meal here. Either way, you will have a mouth-watering array of selections. Try Aquidneck Clam Chowder – a Windward specialty. We feature a large assortment of Tapas, small portions designed to provide the opportunity to enjoy individually or share multiples as a great beginning for your dining enjoyment.
- Light Fare – Conducting a working lunch? Have little time to spare before heading to the airport or one of Newport’s famed festivals? Our Light Fare menu will please in no time. Grab a Windward Angus Burger, grilled to your preference and topped with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. Go even lighter with a Hyatt Stay-Fit pear and brie sandwich with watercress, balsamic aioli and caramelized onion on rustic walnut bread served with tabbouleh salad.
- Chef’s Specialties – Our chefs take great pride in every meal they produce, and nowhere do they excel more than in their daily specials. Maintain your healthy practices with our Hyatt Stay-Fit Mediterranean salad with baby cucumbers, sweet peppers, vine tomatoes, sweet onion and kalamata olives with feta and basil vinaigrette. Carnivores whet the appetite with our gorgonzola crusted grilled filet mignon served with garlic whipped potatoes and a port wine reduction.
- Innovative Entrees – No trip to Rhode Island would be complete without our traditional New England Lobsterfest. Crack open a 1 ½ pound native sweet lobster with drawn butter, new potatoes and corn on the cob. Our Lobsterfest special runs from Memorial Day through September 30th, but have no fear, we feature our stuffed lobster dinner nightly at market price.

Dine on fire-grilled swordfish then wander over to our outdoor fire pit where the kids can make s'mores. S'more kits available for sale in our Galley.
- Enjoy Neighborhood Appreciation Night on Mondays with a selection of half-priced appetizers, live entertainment, prizes and giveaways.
